Early Life and Career

Anthony Michael Rendon was born on June 6, 1990, in Houston, Texas. He played college baseball at Rice University and was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the first round of the 2011 MLB draft.

Rendon made his MLB debut with the Nationals in 2013 and quickly established himself as one of the best young hitters in the league. He was named to his first All-Star team in 2016 and won a Silver Slugger Award that same year.

Signing with the Angels

In December 2019, Rendon signed a seven-year, $245 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels. The deal made him one of the highest-paid players in baseball.

Injury Concerns

Rendon has been plagued by injuries throughout his career. He missed most of the 2020 season due to a wrist injury and has been limited to 41 games in 2021 due to a hamstring injury.
