Early Life and Career

Iga Świątek was born in Warsaw, Poland, on May 31, 2001. She began playing tennis at the age of five and quickly rose through the ranks of junior tennis. In 2018, she won the Junior Wimbledon Championships, becoming the first Polish player to achieve that title.

Professional Breakthrough

Swiatek turned professional in 2019 and made an immediate impact. She won her first WTA title in 2020 at the French Open, becoming the first Polish woman to win a Grand Slam singles title. She then went on to win another Grand Slam title at the 2022 French Open, becoming the first woman to win multiple French Open titles since Serena Williams in 2015.
